Amanda Gonzalez Mejia

Amanda Gonzalez Mejia is a Political Economy and Public Policy student at DKU. Her interest lies in how public and private capital, from industrial policy to venture investment, can drive sustainable and equitable development. As a Duke Nicholas School Fellow at the NRDC, Amanda built a climate finance toolkit mapping 50+ funding sources and moving 20 under-resourced infrastructure projects toward investment. On campus, she has focused on building communities that help students develop pre-professional skills and grow into leaders. She founded the DKU Pre-Law Society, establishing the university’s yearly international collegiate moot court. She later brought the Duke Impact Investing Group from Durham to Kunshan, where she now co-leads teams delivering ESG and market strategy for early-stage socially conscious ventures. Outside of pre-professional work, Amanda enjoys yoga and fitness. She served as president of the Yoga Club, fostering a space for wellness, bonding, and mindfulness on campus. She attributes her growth and initiative to her incredible friends, family, and endlessly encouraging mentors. Amanda will continue her studies as a Schwarzman Scholar at Tsinghua University.
